Things That Happened

The following were some things that I recalled from an ayahuasca ceremony I participated in.

I appreciated my mother and saw that I need to start the process of taking over her business.

I realized the purpose of ritual is to slow down and honor and appreciate.

I saw the destroyer god in the fire. Consuming and making room for new growth.

I died. My body became still and my soul started the process of unzipping from the mortal coil. I processed each pain and in the end was a sweet release dissolving into the source.

I became every person who ever sat and sang in a circle through time.

I hugged a tree, let it hold me up.

I saw everyone in the circle connected through the portal. I saw everyone as beings of pure light connected through threads.

I saw [the facilitator] as an old woman channeling all the ancestors who say in leadership of a circle before.

I wore a helmet of pure light, like a space suit.

I learned about belonging.

Do we have to keep pretending?
